Yes he is.... Yes he is a fine [b] actor [/b] everyone knows it. But lalettan is not an actor , he [b] lives [/b] as the character being given in the film. He can do any type of role superbly but no other actor cant even Kamal Hassan cant do in the way Lalattan does, cos he shows overacting, but lalettan not....

hi mrx i also agree mamooty is a good actor.but not gud as laltten.laltten is an all rounder he can perform any role but mamooty is so bold he is no as flexible as lal. check the national awards mamooty have won more national award than lal but he won the award by acting in award filims.but laltten won national award 3 times.2national award and one special award for kireedom.the2 filims lal won the award were entertiners kireedam and bharatham......if he won national awad for thanmamthra it will be also great becoz thanmathra is also an entertiner type filim

please ,dont be harsh to kamal Hi,vijeswh please dont tell thjat kamal overacts.Im a diehard fan of both lalettan & kamal.Both of them constitute the only two versatile actors in indian cinema.You agree right.
