Actor Mohanlal made a surprise visit to the Nair Service Society (NSS) headquarters at Perunna on Monday and held talks with its general secretary G Sukumaran Nair.
It was the Mollywood superstar’s first visit to the NSS headquarters. Mohanlal, who reached Perunna by 10.20 am, was accorded a warm welcome by Sukumaran Nair and other NSS leaders.
The actor spent more than an hour at the NSS headquarters and had a closed-door discussion with Sukumaran Nair for around half-an-hour .
Though, both of them denied any special purpose in the visit, it sparked speculations. There were talks that the star came to request the NSS leadership to press the UDF leadership for the re-entry of former minister K B Ganesh Kumar into the state Cabinet.
However, Sukumaran Nair denied this and said that Mohanlal came to strengthen his association with the organisation.
“It was purely a friendly visit. He came as he had a thought that he should have come here. There was nothing political in his visit,” Sukumaran Nair said, adding that the superstar was impressed by the manner in which the NSS was functioning.
According to Nair, the star visited the place after taking an appointment a couple of days ago.
Mohanlal paid floral tributes at Mannam Samadhi and visited Mannam Art gallery and museum, before leaving the place by 11.30.
Film producer Suresh, actor P Sreekumar and Film Academy member Krishna Prasad also visited the place with Mohanlal.
Responding to the media at the headquarters, Mohanlal said he wanted to know the organisation in a closer dimension.
