The film focuses mainly on relationships in today's society and takes a look at things from the perspective of a garment exporter named Gopakumar and his assistant-cum-fashion designer Kamala.

Gopakumar has his own textile business while Kamala, who has just done her fashion designing course joins him as his assistant. Gopakumar also has another assistant named Immanuel. Gopakumar, in the course of his business-related activities, happens to come across three married couples. All of them face problems in their respective family lives. These problems had begun from differences of opinion pertaining to trivial matters and in due course had gained bigger proportions, resulting in marital discord of the severest kind.

Gopakumar is one who gives much importance to relationships and believes that it is easy to break a relationship but difficult to build and maintain one. And so he sets out, with ample help from Kamala and Immanuel, to set things right in the lives of these married couples. Mohanlal plays Gopakumar while Meera Jasmine is Kamala and Innocent becomes Immanuel.

Happy to note that Mohanlal came back from the "GOD like character" to a simple man as in earlier movies. But sad to note that Sathyan Anthikkad is not meeting our expectation like earlier. Nothing new anywhere, repeatation and doing safe play just to satisfy all needs of a commercial film are making us deperate. There was a time we all liked Sathyan / Sreenivasan films a lot. But, now a days, Sreenivasan also couldnt meet such expectations - especially after Udayananu Tharam (not relevant but just told alongwith).
