Balettan

Mohanlal is Balettan to everyone in the village and an epitome of goodness. He works in a cooperative bank as accountant. His father (Nedumudi Venu) retires as manager of the bank. His pension money is used to help many persons in the village. Venu on his death bed leaves Mohanlal with a new burden. He reveals that he has another family with two daughters. Mohanlal who has to keep the secret to save his father''s good name begins to juggle between the two houses. He has a doting wife Devyani who supports him and Sudish, a younger brother who is out to spoil his plans. Jagathy the bank manager, taxi driver Indran, Mani as the muslim friend, Harisree Asokan as a lottery agent are the motley crowd in the village.
The film coming in the 25th year of Mohanlal coicindentally is the 50th film of Aroma Movies. The effort in this film is to show Lal as a simpleton devoid of any heroism. With criticism that Lal has acquired a superman image, the director has removed any trace of heroism but in the process forgotten that the storyline and screenplay needs a fresh approach.
